The Morning Message: Pastor Alan Atchison: “ The One Who Nurtures ”: Based on the text from Proverbs 31: A Reading from the Scriptures: ” Proverbs 1: 1 – 10; 15; 19; 32-33 ” As we prepare to celebrate God’s gifts to us in the form of the care and nurture that mothers give, we recognize that not all people have experienced the joys and wonder of the love of their mothers. We are cognizant that there are some who were abandoned – both physically and/or emotionally by their mothers. We recognize that there are those among us that longed to become mothers, but were not able to successfully conceive or carry a child in the womb. We mourn with you. There are mother who have lost their children to death at an early age. We weep with you. We are painfully aware that there are all sorts of experiences surrounding mother and motherhood that make this day a difficult one for many. And so, we remember you before our God, and we covenant to pray for you, and for your circumstances, as we gather for worship tomorrow.
